I just saw this gorgeous little family six months ago. Little Lila was practically a newbie. Meeting again just before her first birthday, I am reminded how quickly time flies with our children. I am reminded of how their chubby little hands feel as they grip our pinky finger. I am reminded of how it feels when they finally hit that first year mark, and we look back and can't believe the first year is over.
Let's remember to document every little step, every little toe.
Happy first birthday, beautiful little Lila!
She designed her own dress. She drove to the flower district herself before the wedding to grab the most beautiful stems and create her own bouquets. When they asked "If anyone has any objections" during the ceremony, her dad wiped away a tear and raised his hand, not yet ready to let her go. A groomsman flute solo, a one of a kind opal ring, custom floral robes for the bridesmaids, blue suede shoes. Her deep red lipstick stained his lips during their first kiss.
All in all, it was a day all their own.
A big, gigantic thank you to my second photographer, the lovely Kym from Kym Vitar Photography. I love having you by my side, my blonde partner in crime.

Nikki and Shesha, owners of Atomic Ballroom in Irvine. They are incredible, hilarious, and so in love. Not just with each other, but with their beautiful children, with the life they have created together, and with the community that they have surrounded themselves with. I count myself lucky and priveledged to be a small part of that community.
Katey is a vintage lover, super sweetheart, and avid swing dancer, and wanted a fun beach Pin Up session. We enlisted the magical makeup talents of Ceci de la Hoya, and went down to Sunset Beach to play. From the pretty light to the perfect vintage VW bus that just happened to be parked nearby to the lifeguard stand... it was a dream.

The Gates family are about to welcome their third baby, and they couldn't be more excited. With two big sisters and parents as cool and fun as these, this little guy is going to be smiling nonstop! Can't wait to meet him!
San Pedro is my hometown.
I've always said that San Pedro is just an old fashioned small town, disguised as a Los Angeles suburb. Families all know each other, friends from elementary school are your friends for life, and memories are made by the cliffs, the loading docks, and in little spots like Averill Park.
So when I found out Vanessa and Bryan would be getting married in Averill Park, and having their reception on 7th Street in downtown San Pedro, I couldn't have been more thrilled. I knew it would be the kind of event that everyone wants to attend- the kind of wedding that feels like a family reunion, even for those who have never met.
I was so right.
Congratulations, Vanessa and Bryan- I can't thank you enough for letting me a part of this day.
I know you have years of memories to make together in this special place.
