I just saw this gorgeous little family six months ago. Little Lila was practically a newbie. Meeting again just before her first birthday, I am reminded how quickly time flies with our children. I am reminded of how their chubby little hands feel as they grip our pinky finger. I am reminded of how it feels when they finally hit that first year mark, and we look back and can't believe the first year is over.
Let's remember to document every little step, every little toe.
Happy first birthday, beautiful little Lila!
Katey is a vintage lover, super sweetheart, and avid swing dancer, and wanted a fun beach Pin Up session. We enlisted the magical makeup talents of Ceci de la Hoya, and went down to Sunset Beach to play. From the pretty light to the perfect vintage VW bus that just happened to be parked nearby to the lifeguard stand... it was a dream.

This little family received this session as a gift, and it came with perfect timing. They are moving from sunny California to the Midwest, which I hear has actual seasons. So they really wanted to take some time to preserve the memories of basking in the sun and playing in the sea.
I hope when you are braving the chilly Midwest winters, you can pull out these photos and remember what it felt like to have your toes in the sand and the ocean breeze in your hair.
I have been waiting for over a year for Adrienne to come and play on the beach with me. I've always been inspired by her- not only her physical beauty, but her expression, her heart.
We shot these images on the sand four days before she got on a plane today to pursue her dreams in New York City.
It's a really special thing to see someone take the first steps toward a journey and a life you know is their destiny.
Adrienne, we all know this is your path. We are here cheering you on from the West Coast, and we cannot wait to see you fly.
They started off their day at the St. Regis in Monarch Beach. Then they took their party to the water, where it belonged. A few hiccups in the day pushed the ceremony timing back, which resulted in a fiery sunset breaking through their first kiss. Sometimes moments are crafted by something other than us, and they happen just as they are meant to.
Stephanie and Josh- may the entirety of your marriage be as fun and hilarious as your wedding day, and may you always celebrate with your toes in the sand.
Special thank you to coordinators at The Gal, The Plan, The Wedding.
